We got Learnapalooza'd!

We got Learnapalooza'd!

This weekend was pretty awesome. We learned how to tie a bowtie without using a mirror, how to bind our own self-published zines, and how to taste wine like a true French person.

Learnapalooza came to Edgewater and we were honored to be a hosting venue. We led a teaser of our Intro to 3D Design & Printing class, and we were lucky enough to partake in the other classes offered at our shop.

Learnapalooza is a choose-your-own-adventure style festival where volunteers lead one-hour hands-on workshops and other people participate in them for free! To learn more, check out their website.

Other Edgewater venues for Learnapalooza were the Edgewater libraryBlue Buddha Boutique, and Third Coast Comics.

Special Class: Printmaking - Nature Cards

Special Class: Printmaking - Nature Cards

We are excited to offer a special class on April 25 -- Linoleum Block Printmaking! This class will be taught by Katie Netti of Urban Oil Ceramics, one of our vendors in the retail boutique.

**Click here to register for the class!**

Linoleum block printmaking is as easy as making a single design, and printing it on 10 cards.  You can keep the colors the same, or switch it up to individualize each one. Cards are 5x7 and come with envelopes.  Additional Packages of 10 will be available for purchase on site.

"Lino-cut" is a printmaking technique, in which a sheet of linoleum is used for the relief surface. A design is cut into the surface with a V-shaped chisel or gouge, with the raised (un-carved) areas representing a reversal of the parts to show printed. The cut areas can then be pulled from the backing. The linoleum sheet is inked with a brayer (roller), and then impressed onto paper or fabric. The actual printing can be done by hand or with a press, we will be printing by hand on paper.
