We are excited to offer a special class on April 25 -- Linoleum Block Printmaking! This class will be taught by Katie Netti of Urban Oil Ceramics, one of our vendors in the retail boutique.
Linoleum block printmaking is as easy as making a single design, and printing it on 10 cards. You can keep the colors the same, or switch it up to individualize each one. Cards are 5x7 and come with envelopes. Additional Packages of 10 will be available for purchase on site.
"Lino-cut" is a printmaking technique, in which a sheet of linoleum is used for the relief surface. A design is cut into the surface with a V-shaped chisel or gouge, with the raised (un-carved) areas representing a reversal of the parts to show printed. The cut areas can then be pulled from the backing. The linoleum sheet is inked with a brayer (roller), and then impressed onto paper or fabric. The actual printing can be done by hand or with a press, we will be printing by hand on paper.
